Another hero of mine - and equally courageous - is Holley Doepke-Myers. She is the heart of FADED. I could never have made the film without her willingness to brave a storm of criticism and bare her soul to the world. I couldn't be prouder of her and all that she's accomplished. An amazing person.
Here is the news spot that features subjects and clips from FADED: GIRLS AND BINGE DRINKING from an CBS News report with Scott Pelley. I was not prepared for the amount of buzz that occurred when FADED was released. It was a bit daunting and I was a bit naive and underprepared. Suffice to say, all the news coverage was great for exposure and sales. And it was pretty cool that the NIGHTLINE crew came out for our Portland premiere at the ART MUSEUM.
This is not one of my shining moments on the PR bus. In fact Dr. Drew barely acknowledged me but it's okay. It wasn't about me. I get the distinct feeling that the man gets annoyed easily. View the spot with HLN host Dr. Drew that aired on January 15th and is now hosted on the HLN YouTube channel.
Sharon Coplon, who is featured here, is an amazing woman and had an amazing story to tell. You'll have to watch my film to get that story though because Dr. Drew missed the point.

NIGHTLINE came to Portland for my premiere of FADED at the Portland Art Museum. ABC News host Juju Chang interviewed Holley and she was featured in this spot that aired on March 12th, 2013 and is now hosted on the ABC News YouTube channel. Juju interviewed me as well but I ended up on the cutting room floor.
